What do 500 pairs of earrings look like?
Here are 250 to give you an idea! I made two batches that I delivered on two separate dates to Exacto Spring Corporation. This was by far my largest order to date.
The process is a really fun and creative one, though. I do enjoy making these!
- During the year, I go through Exacto and collect certain springs that they may be manufacturing at that specific time.
- I keep them numbered by product identification codes, and in separate bags because if all the springs were to be in one container, they would tangle into a horrific mess.
- I also constantly keep my eye out on new beads and shapes/materials that would coordinate with certain springs and store those items as well.
- When I feel inspired, I get all the materials out and start designing a few mock designs. The designs that turn out are then laid out to assemble about 25 pairs at a time. I have included some of this process in the photos. This is the most fun part.
- The part that is more tedious would be making the card backings with the company logo and bagging each set of earrings.
For being springs, I surprise myself with how cool some of these turn out! Exacto uses them to gift to clients that tour the factory as well as giveaway promotional items at trade shows.
